Simon Richard is a Research Director and Agenda Manager on the Gartner for Tech Professionals research team. He primarily covers data center and cloud networking. Mr. Richard focuses on helping customers evolve their data center architecture and management practices by leveraging new technologies, such as network virtualization, software-defined network (SDN), Software-Defined WAN (SD-WAN) and Ethernet fabrics. Recently, Simon expanded his research to increasing agility by leveraging API-driven infrastructure, which extends his coverage to the container ecosystem and DevOps tooling and techniques.

In previous roles, Mr. Richard was responsible for the formulation, promotion, and execution of corporate network strategy and architecture. He also led the strategic and architectural phases of a private cloud implementation from a technical perspective.
